The Institute of Computer Science at the University of St.Gallen is seeking candidates for
Paid Research Assistant positions
in Communication- and Interaction-based Systems, to start as soon as possible.
In this position, you will focus on designing methodologies and implementing systems that allow smart devices in networked systems to interact with one another in an autonomous manner, and permit users to monitor, cooperate, and collaborate with such smart devices in their homes, on the road, and in industrial settings with little prior training. In this context, the position will give you the opportunity to work toward a PhD in Computer Science.
We are looking for you if you have
  • A university-level Masters degree in Computer Science or a related subject
  • Expertise in either Multi-Agent Systems or in Semantic Web & Linked Data (expertise in both areas is a plus)
  • Confidence and independence in designing and implementing complex systems (industry experience is a plus)
  • Experience in supervising student projects and teaching university-level courses is a plus
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • An international mindset paired with a high ambition to excel in research, teaching, and academic service
  • A rising track record in peer-reviewed research in the respective topic area is a plus
