We are currently looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated business development manager with a can-do attitude and strong interpersonal skills to join our Business Development team. As a member of our team, you will spend time working on core strategic projects across teams and help driving the future of the company.

Business Development Manager (f/m) 80-100%

What you will do
  • Identify the most promising opportunities to grow and scale the business within ricardo.ch. Define and execute strategic projects to unlock such growth
  • Develop concepts for new revenue streams and lead cross-functional teams towards their launch
  • Grow a prioritized funnel of potential cooperation and M&A targets that extend or support our value proposition. Execute cooperation or acquisition process from contact initiation, target assessment, business case development to negotiation with the counterpart
  • Develop and defend business cases with financials and performance KPIs
  • Define and execute projects that drive process improvements together with an extended internal team
  • Act as a strong owner and ambassador of key projects and business development initiatives
  • Observe global trends in online shopping and be the champion for bringing in international best practices to the organization
  • Support the management team during business planning cycles or in making key business decisions by providing business cases, financial models and detailed scenario analysis
  • Working closely with operational teams (i.e. product, marketing, customer service, software engineering) within ricardo.ch and the larger Tamedia group
What we look for
  • 4+ years experience in business development and/or project management roles with the ability to manage cross-functional teams in dynamic market environments
  • Previous experience in management consulting, corporate strategy, investment banking, online or tech company. A deep understanding of eCommerce and/or marketplaces is a plus
  • Proven track record in driving business development initiatives to sustainable success and launching new scalable online services and processes
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, ability to formulate hypotheses and test those hypotheses with data
  • Ability to derive relevant conclusions and condense those in concise and meaningful recommendations both orally and in written format
  • Experience in setting up financial models, business cases and deriving financial conclusions
  • Strong dedication to deliver results, a positive can-do attitude and high attention to detail combined with a strong perspective on the big picture
  • Entrepreneurial spirit and strong interpersonal skills
  • Proven ability to meet tight deadlines and prioritize workloads
  • IT literacy with very good MS Office skills (including very strong working knowledge of Excel)
  • University degree in a quantitative field of study, e.g. business, economics, engineering. MBA degree is a plus
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English, German a big plus
