The online edition of 20 Minuten is read by over 5 million people throughout Switzerland. We provide our more than 100 journalists with an advanced CMS, enabling them to always keep their eye on the ball. As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will share responsibility for software design, implementation, architecture and the implementation of unit and integration tests in the Digital Publishing & Development department, where the new CMS is being developed.

Your responsibilities
Your main activity as a Senior Backend Engineer will be to implement new features using Spring-Boot (Java), RabbitMQ, SQL databases and Elastic Search. You will also support the team in the writing of unit tests (with jUnit, Mockito, etc.) and integration tests (using Cucumber). In addition, the DevOps team is always pleased to receive advice on topics related to CI/CD processes.

Your profile
You should enjoy working with less experienced engineers and sharing your knowledge with them. You should have many years of experience and be enthusiastic about backend engineering (university education is a plus, but not essential). You should have several years' experience working with Spring and JPA (Hibernate). Experience with GIT, Docker and Kubernetes is an advantage but not essential. We are keen to hear from you if you are also able to communicate with colleagues from Belgrade in English (even if through just basic communication).
