Duties of the position
The successful applicant will be a key member of a research team situated at the University of St. Gallen (Prof. Thomas Epper), Ghent University (Prof. Ferdinand Vieider) and HEC Paris (Prof. Mohammed Abdellaoui). The primary place of work will be St. Gallen. The larger-scale research project (funded for 3.5 years) studies risk, time preferences and insurance decisions in a development context. It involves a series of laboratory and field experiments in Switzerland and Uganda. We are collaborating with local laboratories. Regular visits to Uganda during the study implementation phase are a requirement.

Candidate profile
Applicants should hold a PhD degree in Economics (or a related discipline) with a specialization in development economics, experimental economics or behavioral economics. Preferably, the candidate should have previous expertise in conducting field experiments and/or RCTs in developing countries. Fluency in English is a requirement. The position is free from teaching obligations. The salary is highly competitive.
